I don’t have the heart to delete the original Introduction, so I am going to leave it posted below. Now I am a college student at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts majoring in Critical Studies. I will try to continue to update this blog, and will try to post my film papers on here as well, even though they might not relate to animation. If you are actually reading this blog and are not Jonathan White and want to talk about things, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
My name is Hans Hinebaugh, and as a high school student, animation should not be under my list of interests. Today everybody seems to think that Spongebob and Scooby Doo are for youngsters, and Mickey Mouse and Yogi Bear are for old guys. This is not the case though, as animation at its heart is meant for all ages. In this blog, I want to explore what’s going on in the industry, what’s new and what’s old, and anything interesting that has to do with this art form. Someday, when I’m animating, people will ask me, “Hans, how did you get into this business?” By this time, I’ll have a full beard and moustache, and I’ll reply calmly in a very deep voice, “It was my blog, man, my blog.”
